A study of how people interact with urban landscapes, with connections to Gilles Deleuze’s theory of ‘any-space-whatever’. Deleuze argues that these spaces of transit de-singularizes everyone and has characteristics, however, without them the plot could not successfully move forward.
The plot is more about the camera and the journey it is taking rather than one particular character. It captures its surrounding as it goes about its day, observing the spontaneity of the life in the city of Chicago
Projected video for Illuminate Bath. The concept is that once the key has been turned, “something” happens to the surroundings in Bath city centre. The idea of the video is for it to be projected onto found objects in the city; a phone box, and transforming the object into something that is more. The play of colour and sound with the movements of the abstract shapes relates to ones mind and creativity. The phone box then is turned into a box of imagination where the viewer can appreciate and allow their minds to flow.
“The eyes are the window to the soul” - English Proverb.
Human emotions is most honest when seen through the eyes. The question is how that instant reaction is to be captured. The projected video investigates into how human eyes react to certain stimuli, capturing the first reaction which is the most honest through the dilation of the pupils. Different people have different reactions based on their sole personality and tastes.
The images and texts that flashes up correlates with each pupil reaction.
